9. LEARNINGS

Over the years, as we have implemented the NPM programme for over two years, we have had the following learnings:

• Establishing Trust - Ensure consistent interactions with all stakeholders in the facility before programme begins. - Share clinical data with relevant stakeholders. - Inclusion of relevant stakeholders for suitable trainings and knowledge dissemination.

• Sensitisation Workshops - Conduct regular sensitisation workshops on midwifery and the NPM programme for all stakeholders. - Create awareness and promote RMC by conducting frequent workshops for all stakeholders.

• Seeing is Believing - Lead the way by practicing evidence-based, respectful, women-centric care. - While MLCUs are critical, it is important to interact with doctors and nurses to help shift the perspective that childbirth is solely a medical emergency.
